To celebrate the closing on our home this Friday, we’re going to start by tearing parts of it down. We invite friends and family over In celebration of closing on our new home.
We ask that our guests bring your sledge hammers, hammers and wrecking bars, and any hard working friends you’d like. Very important, be sure to wear comfortable/thick-soled shoes. No flip flops please. We don’t want to pass out tetanus shots.
We will have however much beer will fit in a couple of coolers (since there is no fridge), and will get food from Pete’s hotdogs 1/2 block away or pizza as needed. We can’t wait, so drop us an e-mail if you want to come.
On the agenda is:
- Gut kitchen–get rid of ugly yellow tile, 3 layers of linoleum floor and remove cabinets
- Gut sunroom
- Knock down wall between kitchen and pantry
- Knock down wall between kitchen and sunroom
- Take down some of the trim around windows and doors so we can strip it
- Remove laminate flooring in bedroom 2
- Rip up carpets in living and dinning rooms
- possibly do some bathroom gutting
Pretty ambitious, I know. There will definitely be plenty of work for everyone who wants to do more than just hangout. Those who don’t want to work can just be entertained by the destruction.
